Stay Warm
What to Do When YouHave No Heat
Losing heat during a cold desert night is a serious problem. Take safe steps to stay warm while waiting for emergency service.
Winter Nights Can Freeze
Las Vegas nights fall to freezing about ten times a year. A home without heat keeps cooling through the night.
Bundle Up Safely
Wear layers of clothing and use heavy blankets to retain your body heat while you wait for a technician to arrive.
Never Use an Oven for Heat
Never turn on a gas oven, stovetop or outdoor grill inside the house for warmth. This creates a severe risk of carbon monoxide poisoning.
Close Off Empty Rooms
Shut the doors to unused bedrooms and bathrooms. This helps keep the remaining warmth concentrated in the area where your family is waiting.
Check Carbon Monoxide Alarms
Make sure your carbon monoxide alarms are working. You should have one on every level of the home to detect leaks from fuel-burning equipment.
Space Heater Safety
If you use an electric space heater, keep it clear of bedding and curtains and never leave it running unattended.
Our Process
How HeatingEmergencies Work
We respond to no-heat calls with a clear process to get your furnace or heat pump checked.
You Call Our Team
A real person answers our phone 24/7. You will not have to navigate an automated menu to speak with someone.
We Gather the Facts
We ask what is happening with your system. Tell us if the unit will not start or if it blows cold air.
We Give an Arrival Window
We tell you when a technician can come, and we never promise a time.
The Visit and Price
The technician examines your heating equipment, shows you what failed, and provides a written price for the repair before starting work.
A complete loss of heat during winter counts as an emergency. We book scheduled visits for minor heating issues Monday to Saturday.
Heating Safety Warnings

What HomeownersSay About Us
Our gas furnace quit working on a Friday night in December. Kestrel Heating & Air answered the phone right away. Marcus came out, showed us the bad flame sensor, and gave us a written price to replace it before he started the work.

Questions
Emergency Heating Questions
Facts about our emergency heating repairs during Las Vegas winters.
Can you fix my furnace tonight?
We never promise a response time. Technicians go out on evenings, nights, weekends and holidays for no heat in winter, and when you call we tell you when one can come.
Will someone answer if I call on a Sunday?
Yes. A real person answers our phone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including weekends and holidays.
Do you charge extra by the hour on weekends?
No. We use flat-rate pricing. The technician diagnoses the furnace or heat pump and gives you a written price for the repair. That price covers the entire job and will not change, regardless of how long it takes.
What if my furnace is blowing cold air?
First check the thermostat is set to heat and the fan to auto. If it still blows cold air, turn the system off and call us. A heat pump can blow cool air for a few minutes during a defrost cycle, which is normal.
Does my old furnace have to be replaced?
We never recommend replacement on age alone. The technician will examine your furnace, show you what failed, and provide options to repair or replace the equipment so you can decide.
