Tune-Up Benefits
Why Maintenance MattersEvery Season
Regular maintenance prepares your equipment for the Las Vegas heat and freezing winter nights.
Catch Small Problems Early
A technician can often spot a failing capacitor or worn contactor before it causes a complete breakdown on a hot afternoon.
Clear Drain Lines
We clear the condensate drain line during the cooling season to help prevent water from backing up and leaking into your home.
Keep the Coil Clean
Rinsing the outdoor coil removes summer dust and debris so your air conditioner can move heat outside properly.
Check Electrical Parts
Testing electrical connections, the capacitor and the contactor can catch a weak part early before it causes a complete breakdown.
Get a Written Report
You receive a full written report of what we found and anything worth watching.
Test the Thermostat
We test the cooling and heating cycles from the thermostat to verify the system responds properly.

What We Check
Tune-Up Overview
We run a specific checklist based on the season and whether you have a gas furnace or a heat pump.
Refrigerant Pressures: We check the pressures and temperatures to see if the system is low on refrigerant.
Outdoor Coil: We rinse the outdoor coil to remove dirt that builds up during monsoon dust storms.
Drain Lines: We clear the condensate line so water drains outside instead of overflowing into the attic.
Burners and Ignition: For gas furnaces we inspect the burners and clean the flame sensor.
Heat Exchanger: We visually inspect the heat exchanger where it can be seen for signs of wear.
Blower and Filter: We check the blower motor and replace the filter if you have a new one on hand.

Maintenance FAQ
Read answers to common questions about our tune-up process.
How often should I have my system checked?
ENERGY STAR suggests checking the cooling system in the spring and the heating system in the fall.
What is included in a tune-up?
In the spring we check refrigerant, rinse the outdoor coil, test the capacitor and contactor, clear the drain line, and check the blower and airflow. A fall tune-up inspects the burners, cleans the flame sensor, tests safety limits, and includes a visual heat exchanger check. We test the thermostat and provide a written report.
How long does a tune-up take?
The time depends on where your equipment is located and what we find during the inspection. We take the time needed to go through the full checklist and write up the report.
How often should I change my filter?
ENERGY STAR suggests checking the filter every month and changing it at least every three months. If the filter looks dirty after a month, change it.
Do you offer a maintenance plan?
Yes. The Kestrel Comfort Club includes two tune-ups a year, priority scheduling, and 10% off repairs for $17 a month.
How much is a standard tune-up?
We offer a seasonal air conditioning tune-up special for $79 per system. A written report is included in the price, this offer expires December 31, 2026, and we allow one offer per visit.
