What to Do When You LoseAir Conditioning

Losing air conditioning during a Las Vegas summer is a serious situation. Take steps to protect your family from the heat while you wait.

  • Heat Danger for the Vulnerable

Summer temperatures over 100 degrees are dangerous for older people, babies and pets. Move them to the coolest room in the house.

  • Close Your Blinds

Close blinds on sunny windows to keep out heat. Keep windows and outside doors shut.

  • Use Ceiling Fans

Fans move air across your skin to help you feel cooler, even when the room temperature rises. Turn them off when you leave the room.

  • Stay in the Coolest Room

Gather your family in a downstairs room with tile floors and fewer windows. Bring plenty of drinking water.

  • Check on Your Neighbors

If a power outage takes down air conditioning for your street, check on neighbors who might be vulnerable to extreme heat.

  • Drink Water Often

Drink water often and save heavy chores for after the hottest hours while the house is warm.

Our Process

How EmergencyService Works

We handle no-cooling calls with a straightforward process to get your system checked as soon as we can.

  1. You Call Us

A real person answers the phone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You never have to leave a voicemail and wait.

  2. We Ask What Happened

Tell us what you notice, like a warm house or an outdoor unit that will not start. We note the details for the technician.

  3. We Give You a Window

We tell you when a technician can come, and we never promise a time.

  4. The Visit and Price

The technician finds the cause, shows you what failed, and gives you a written price for the repair before any work begins.

A complete loss of cooling in summer counts as an emergency. For routine maintenance or minor issues, our scheduled visits run Monday to Saturday.

Emergency Safety Warnings

What HomeownersSay About Us

Sample review

Our air conditioner stopped blowing cold air late on a Saturday night in July. We called Kestrel Heating & Air and a person actually answered. Andre showed up, found a blown capacitor, and gave us the written price before he replaced it.

Questions

Emergency AC Repair Questions

Facts about our after-hours emergency air conditioning availability.

Can you promise when a technician will arrive?

No, we never promise a response time. Technicians go out on evenings, nights, weekends and holidays for no cooling in summer, and when you call we tell you when one can come.

Will I talk to a machine if I call at night?

No. A real person answers our phone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We take your information and explain our availability right away.

Do you charge by the hour for emergency visits?

We use flat-rate pricing for all repairs. The technician finds the problem and gives you a written price before any work begins. The price does not change once you approve it, no matter how long the repair takes.

What counts as an emergency?

No cooling in summer, no heat in winter and water leaking from an indoor unit. Other problems are booked as scheduled visits, Monday to Saturday, by phone or Request Service.

What if my system needs to be replaced?

If the repair is extensive or the equipment is old, the technician will show you what failed and provide options to repair or replace the system. We never recommend replacement on age alone.
