Replacement Signs

When to ConsiderSystem Replacement

Knowing when to upgrade helps you avoid a complete equipment failure during the hottest weeks of the desert summer.

  • System Age

It may be time to consider replacement if your air conditioner is over ten years old or your gas furnace is over fifteen years old.

  • Recurring Repairs

Calling for service every season or facing a repair that covers a major component often makes a new system more practical.

  • Declining Comfort

Significant hot and cold spots across the house suggest the aging equipment is struggling to keep up with the Las Vegas heat.

  • Rising Energy Use

An unexpected jump in your summer electric bills can point to equipment losing its efficiency as it ages.

  • Excessive Noise

Loud grinding, rattling or continuous buzzing sounds from the outdoor unit often indicate heavy wear on older components.

  • Outdated Refrigerant

Since January 1, 2025, new residential air conditioners and heat pumps are made for lower-impact refrigerants such as R-454B and R-32 instead of R-410A. This is worth knowing when you weigh a major repair on an older system.

Making the Choice

Repair vs. Replacement

Our technicians show you the failed part and provide a written price for both options whenever reasonable.

Repair May Make Sense When

  • The system is less than ten years old

  • The repair cost is relatively low

  • The system has not needed frequent repairs

  • The equipment is under a manufacturer warranty

  • Your energy bills have remained stable

Replacement May Make Sense When

  • The air conditioner is over ten years old

  • The repair estimate covers a major component

  • You are calling for service every season

  • The manufacturer warranty has expired

  • Your electric bills show rising energy usage

  • The home has significant hot and cold spots

Our Approach

System Evaluation and Selection

We provide free in-home estimates that evaluate your entire property to ensure we recommend the correct equipment size and type.

  • Rooms and Layout: We review the size and layout of the rooms, including whether the home has a second story.

  • Insulation and Windows: We look at the quality of your insulation and the type of windows in the home to understand heat transfer.

  • Sun Exposure: We evaluate how the intense desert sun hits your walls and roof throughout the summer day.

  • Existing Ductwork: We inspect the existing ductwork to ensure it can support the airflow required by the new system.

  • Comfort Concerns: We discuss any existing hot spots, uneven temperatures or family usage habits to guide the equipment choice.

  • Budget and Equipment: We review your budget alongside two or three specific equipment options that fit your home requirements.
