Ductless Mini-Split SystemGarage Office Project

Adding independent heating and cooling to a garage conversion in Las Vegas.

This case study is a sample written for this demonstration site. A live site tells the business’s own projects.

    The Problem

Extreme Heat in a Converted Workspace

A homeowner converted part of their garage into a dedicated home office space. However, without air conditioning ducts connected to the main central system, summer temperatures made working in the garage unmanageable.

Extending existing household ductwork into the garage was impractical due to framing barriers and equipment capacity limits. The space required a dedicated system that could cool and heat independently.

    System Evaluation

    Assessment and System Design

Our technician evaluated the room dimensions, wall orientation, and electrical service.

    • Evaluated Room Heat Load: Calculated solar heat gain through the garage door and uninsulated exterior wall surfaces.

    • Checked Electrical Panel: Inspected the main breaker panel to confirm capacity for a dedicated 240-volt mini-split circuit.

    • Selected Mounting Location: Identified an exterior interior wall location for ideal air distribution across the workspace.

    • Delivered Written Quote: Provided a complete installation quote including equipment, electrical, and line set cover assembly.

    The Equipment

    Single-Zone Heat Pump Mini-Split

We recommended a single-zone ductless mini-split heat pump system. The outdoor heat pump connects to a wall-mounted indoor air handler through a small wall penetration for refrigerant line sets and control wiring.

The system features inverter-driven operation that adjusts cooling output precisely, maintaining set temperatures silently without cycling on and off abruptly.

    Installation Steps

    How We Installed theDuctless Mini-Split

Our technicians followed careful installation protocols to protect the space and test the system.

    1. Site Preparation

Protected the workspace floors before starting the installation.

    2. Equipment Setup

Set the new indoor wall unit and the outdoor heat pump.

    3. System Connections

Connected the new equipment with the line set and wiring.

    4. Testing and Walkthrough

Tested the system and walked the homeowner through the new equipment.

    Project Summary

    Garage Mini-Split Projectat a Glance

Overview of the ductless heating and cooling installation in a Las Vegas garage office.

    • The Challenge

Unconditioned garage temperatures rendered a home office conversion unusable during hot months.

    • What We Did

Installed an independent single-zone ductless heat pump with wall-mounted air distribution.

    • The Result

Steady temperature control in the office without changing the home's central ductwork.

    What the CustomerHad to Say

    Sample review

Priya walked us through how the mini-split works and found the perfect wall spot for the head unit. My garage office stays cool through the hottest afternoons now, and the new system keeps the temperature steady.
