Attic Duct ReplacementNorth Las Vegas Project
Replacing torn, leaky flexible ductwork in North Las Vegas.
This case study is a sample written for this demonstration site. A live site tells the business’s own projects.
The Problem
Uneven Airflow and Excess Dust in Rooms
A homeowner in North Las Vegas reported weak air supply in rear bedrooms and high dust accumulation on furniture. Despite running the central air conditioner constantly, room temperatures remained unbalanced during summer heat.
The homeowner suspected air distribution issues. Visual inspection revealed degraded flexible ducting in the attic space, with outer jacket insulation torn from exposure to extreme attic heat over time.

System Evaluation
Attic Inspection and Airflow Assessment
Our technician entered the attic space to evaluate duct integrity and airflow balance.
Inspected Duct Runs: Identified crushed flexible ducts, disconnected boots, and degraded fiberglass insulation.
Measured Airflow: Verified restricted airflow caused by kinked duct sections and undersized return runs.
Checked Register Boots: Inspected drywall connections at supply registers for air bypass into wall cavities.
Presented Replacement Plan: Provided a written quote to replace flexible ductwork and balance air distribution registers.

The Equipment
Insulated Flexible Ductwork and Sheet Metal Fittings
We recommended replacing the attic flex duct runs with new insulated flexible duct, sealed at every connection.
The layout features smooth sheet metal distribution wyes, proper suspension strapping, and mastic-sealed register boots to eliminate leakage into unconditioned attic spaces.
- High-r-value thermal insulation
- Mastic-sealed metal connections
- Two-year Kestrel labor warranty
Installation Steps
How We Replaced theAttic Ductwork
Our crew replaced the compromised ducting while protecting home interiors below access hatches.
Protect the Floors
Our crew placed drop cloths below the access hatch and safely removed the torn, collapsed flexible ducting.
Set the New Equipment
We installed new sheet metal starter collars and suspended insulated flexible ducts from the roof trusses.
Connect the System
The team sealed the supply plenum joints and boot collars at the ceiling openings with mastic.
Test and Walkthrough
We adjusted the dampers to equalize airflow across the bedrooms and showed the homeowner the results.
Project Summary
North Las Vegas DuctReplacement Overview
A summary of ductwork diagnostic findings and installation results in North Las Vegas.
The Challenge
Torn flex ducting in the attic lost conditioned air and pulled dust into home living spaces.
What We Did
Replaced damaged duct runs with properly strapped, mastic-sealed insulated flexible ductwork.
The Result
Balanced airflow restored to distant bedrooms with cleaner air distribution throughout.
Homeowner Feedback
What the CustomerHad to Say
Andre crawled up into our attic, explained what happened to the shredded ductwork, and gave us a written price. The new ducts fixed the hot back bedroom, and cold air blows strongly out of every ceiling register now.
